Lost all my photos while dragging them in lightroom CC

Today, I was dragging some photos into the "All Sync Photo" to sync them to the mobile app, as I've done often. I decided to drag all my 2020 folder photos in one move to sync them all (above 300)....big surprise, they all disappeared from my disk drive and also from the cloud, no message nothing. I spent close to 2 hours with Adobe support...but no one understand what happened...I am very desperate that I lost 6 months of photos...Anyone can help...

Thanks

If you have Lightroom Classic on your computer log in to your Adobe Creative Cloud a/c then all the original files from Lightroom (cloud-based) and Lightroom Mobile apps will be downloaded to your computer and stored on your computer at an assigned location.

Ok, so a couple of hints. If you have Lightroom Classic synced to your creative cloud a/c go to Lightroom Classic preferences and select the "Lightroom Sync tab" there you would see the location of the folder where all the synced images are located. In my case, I have "Mobile photos" as the chosen location. See the screen capture.Screenshot 2020-06-10 at 11.22.31 PM.png

Then in Lightroom Classic Library module, you should see the folder where the files are located, see the screen capture.

Thanks Denis,

Very good info. I see all my RAW photos back in LR Classic, but If I try to move those photos into a folder on my HDD folder, I get a message that missing files can't be moved?

As the saying goes, "The blind leading the blind," self included! The "new feature" added that allows dragging & dropping photos into the LR Classic 'All Synced Photographs' catalog folder apparently has some bugs. This technically has nothing to do with LR Desktop, Mobile, or Web apps concerning where the original files are located. The drag & drop to the 'All Synced Photographs' folder should make the photos available in all LR apps, but leave the original files at their current storage location. The drag & drop operation should behave identical to creating a collection and syncing it to the Cloud. Again, the only difference should be that those photos will appear inside LR Desktop, Mobile, and Web in the 'All Photos' selector and NOT in a named album.

Why the original files for the photos dragged & dropped into the 'All Synced Photographs' folder have "disappeared" from the hard drive storage location is still a mystery! The best hope for finding them now is to use Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer and search for a specific filename that is missing. Have you done that? Also check the recycle bin or trash bin.
