LR 14.01 always stops during import of pictures and the import is significant slower then in release 13.xx. To end LR in most cases doesn´t work, I can see the LR process still running in task manager and I have to kill the process to be able to start LR again.
Please post the system information found in the help menu.
How many photos did you select to import?
Does it import smaller batches, down to a single one?
