LR 7.4 - Cannot Import Images

Community Beginner ,
Jul 23, 2018 Jul 23, 2018

In the Import images window (Windows 10), I cannot import images now for some reason. Always worked before but now after selecting images, the Import button is inactive, only Cancel is active. Why now?

Bob,

When you say you select the images you want to import, are you actually clicking on the checkbox in the upper left corner of the thumbnail?

Hi robertach,

We're really sorry for all the trouble. You may try resetting the Lightroom preferences back to defaults and check if that helps.

How to set Lightroom Classic CC preferences

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Mohit

Hi Robertach,

We're sorry to hear about the import issue with Lightroom Classic CC, could you please let us know if you're getting any error message?

Also, where are you trying to import the images from?

Could you please make sure that there are no external devices plugged into the computer and then try importing the images into Lightroom?

If that does not work then please try creating a new catalog and try importing a few images into it and let us know if it helps.

Regards,
Sahil

I am trying to Import from a folder in my Pictures folder on the HDD. No other devices are plugged into the PC.

As I do not want to Import all the images from the folder, I select "Uncheck all" and then the Import button goes inactive and even selecting the images I want to Import, the Import button remains inactive.

I get no error messages.

Is this a bug?

Hal,

You are absolutely right! I was only highlighting the image and not realizing it doesn't activate the check mark. Just having a small "brain fart" this morning.

Sorry to have bothered everyone for such a simple problem.

Take care,

Bob

Thanks for the additional information Bob, could you try copying a few images from the HDD to the desktop and then try importing them into Lightroom and let us know if it works?
