Just tried to use the map module and get a report it hasnt loaded correctly and to refer to the Java Script Console, which is no help to me.  Any suggestions?  Tried re-booting but no joy.  Using Windows 11 latest and latest Lightroom Classic..

Hi @MadDrongo! I'm sorry to hear that the Map module isn't working for you.

Are you seeing any error messages when you try to use it? If you could share a screenshot of the error dialog, that would be super helpful!

Also, sometimes internet connectivity can be a culprit. Could you check if you're in a spot with a stable connection?

Thanks a bunch!

Alek

When the Map module breaks the first time you try to use it in a session, go to Library, exit LR, restart LR, go to Map.  When you exit LR from the Map module, it very often won't load properly when you restart LR. This happens on both Windows and Mac.

Another cause of these symptoms are network connections that have high-latency paths to Google's servers (in which packets take a relatively long time to traverse to Google and back to your computer).  Satellite Internet service and ISPs in some parts of the world can have such high-latency connections. (Note that it's the delay it takes a packet to round trip to Google, not the sustained bandwidth, which could still be reasonably high.)

Bugs in the Map module cause it to fail on high-latency connections.
