Apple Sonoma 14.1.1 Lightroom clasic 13.0.1
Develop > Tools > Mask Overlay (create mask) AUTO HIDE MASKING PANEL is grayed out & not selectable. Whin I create a mast the mask color becomes a permanent part of print, unless I deleate the mask. This was not a problem until I upgraded to the current version.

Not on a MAC, on a WIN. Selecting a photo with no masks, that option does appear (the others in the panel in question do not as no mask exist) . So not a question of existing mask or not.
Odd behavior, Have you considered that your preferences file may have gotten corrupted?
