in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

I cannot be sure from your screen-clip, but have you actually drawn on the selected mask (Brush or gradient)?
You will not see the [Add] [Subtract] buttons unless there is someting to add-to or subtract-from.
You also need to click on the 'Mask' layer to open the adjustments the Tool has been applied.

The Add/Subtract buttons don’t appear even if you click to select the mask? The buttons are hidden/collapsed by default.

This is my experience in Windows- And what I am trying to explain for the OP
1) Create a Mask. eg. Selecting the Gradient tool- I get the [New Mask] icon:
2) [Click] on the [New Mask] 'layer' and it opens the sub-layer icon [New Linear Gradient], but no Add/Subtract buttons will appear yet!
3) I draw a Gradient on the Image and [Add/subtract] buttons appear.
You must apply a Tool for [Add/Subtract] to appear visible.

Thank you. Your explaination were helpful, however, for point 3, the tool add/ subtract did not appear (Camera raw via LRc). I tried the same in Camera raw through PS (latest) as of yesterday and it worked as you state.
I understand that Camera raw is the same through LRc or PC, but seems like something went wrong during the upgrade?
I will try to remove and reinstall again. Thanks again for your quick responses.
Forgot to state that I am using OS (MAC).

I consider this a waste of time. The likelihood that it will fix the problem is close to zero.
Show us a sequence of step by step screen captures to demonstrate the problem, similar to what @Rob_Cullen did.

Did not capture the sequences as I rebooted the machine, will try to capture if it occurs again. Seems to work fine after the reboot. Thanks.
