Moving to next image - the adjustment box stays live

Not 100% how to describe this. But I'm pretty sure that in versions previous to 13.3, when I move from one image to the next, in Dev. mode, whatever adjustment I made (lets say exposure setting) would lock. The adjustment box would be closed. So that if I hit key 2 for example, to down rate an image (my picks are marked 4 stars), then the 2 would give that image 2 stars. Now it doesn't. Because the adjustment box stays live when you move from one image to the next, when I hit 2, it puts 2 into the exposure number. Not what I wanted at all.

This means after every adjustment, I have to hit Enter to close the box. An extra step on every single adjustment I make. Extremely frustating.

Now I can imagine for some people, this behaviour could be useful. But it would be nice to be able to toggle it on or off. Unless there's a method of doing this already, which I've forgotten?

How do you usually move to the next image in Develop? Do you click an arrow button, press an arrow key, or another method?

Arrow keys on the keyboard - to move left and right along film strip. I'm 99% sure, this used to fix the setttings, not keep them open.

I observe similar behavior in LR 13.3.1 / Mac OS 14.5 and Windows 11: When I click the number of the Exposure slider, enter a new value, then click Cmd Right Arrow to move to the next photo, the number of the Exposure slider gets the focus on the next photo.

But in LR 13.2, 13.0, 12.0, and 11.0, when I click Cmd Right Arrow, the number of the Exposure slider loses focus, as you remembered.

I've attached screen recordings from LR 13.3.1 and 13.2 (Mac OS 14.5) showing the difference in behavior.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography@Rick Spaulding -, please consider moving to Bugs -- I confirmed the change in behavior  in LR 13.3.1 from LR 13.2, 13.0, 12.0, and 11.0.
