I have been using Lr for about 6 months, I keyworded most of the photos, still have more to do. On some photos I used multiple keywords, and was wondering if I could search for more than one at a time. For example, I am looking for a bird in winter in a tree in the snow, the keywords I have are; bird, winter, snow and tree, can I search for photos that have all four keywords?
You can do this using the library filter bar. Open the text filter (Ctrl+F) and make sure the rule is set to 'Contains All'.

In the Filter Bar, select "bird" as the keyword in column 1 of the Filter Bar, select "winter" as the keyword in Column 2 of the Filter Bar, and so on.

dj_paigeDo you mean Column 1 and 2 of the Metadata? I don't know of any columns in the filter bar.

This was helpful... In the new versions of Lightroom I am not seeing the ability to add columns? The little drop down menu icon is not something I am seeing. How do you Add Column?

What if a keyword contains space, how then different keywords can be separated?

What have you tried? Does it work?

It doesn't work, if image A is tagged with "sparrow" and B with "jack sparrow", and I search for "contains all - jack sparrow sparrow" only B is found. "contains all - jack sparrow, sparrow" also finds only B. Changing to "contains" finds images tagged with jackson in addition to A and B. What a useless implementation!

I found that searching for "jack sparrow" doesn't find the images tagged with "sparrow", so, I guess, a workaround for finding images with overlapping keyeords is to use the common words. For example, searching for "sparrow" finds images tagged with "jack sparrow" and "sparrow".

Seems like it is doing exactly what I would expect it to do. Image A does not meet the criteria Contains All Jack Sparrow, because it does not have the Jack in its keywords. What a well programmed and useful tool!
However, if you change Contains All to Contains you get different results, which may or may not be the results you want.
