I am in my mid 70's and still very active with my photography. I have the Photography CC with PS and Lr. I am revising my Trust and it has gotten me to wonder how my children will be able to access my Lr catalog.
I have converted all of my RAW images to jpg and tif for their use, but I am concerned that my children will loose the catalog and organization of my images and the ability to see the RAW files. Everything is organized in Windows Explore, and viewed in Lr.
If they stop paying for CC what will happen with Lr?
Any advice is appreciated,
Tom

No, this is factually incorrect.
Lightroom will still work and your catalogue will be usable. They won't be able to go into Develop or into Map. Everything else will work.

If they stop paying for Lightroom they will lose access to the program and will not be able to open the catalog. This is not to suggest that they will not be able to open it on a friends machine that does have a subscription to Lightroom. Or if they decided to get a trial version or pay for a single month just to make decisions on how to proceed.
They will not lose access to your images as they are organized on your computer and Lightroom merely references them. Those file alone will not have any of your changes or metadata associated with them UNLESS, you have chosen to write xmp files either automatically via the Lightroom Catalog settings > Metadata or by Ctrl+S as you go.
The xmp files contain data about the processing and keyboarding you assigned to the images.
This should be readable in the foreseeable future.
And of course your best option is to teach them what you are doing and the minimum they need to know to access the files.

Thank you John, I am assuming you are correct. I had seen something that eluded to your answer.
