I see that over at: Lightroom Classic 8.3: Issues exporting photos to a Network Drive | Photoshop Family Customer Commun... . The Adobe Rep as asking for members to consider resetting their Preferences file.

So, I will repeat, have you considered giving that a try, and post here, AND at the link above, yay or nay as to resolving the issue.

Remember that doing this might reset various preferences settings to default. Be aware that simply manually resetting preferences settings to default is not what is being asked, that does nit accomplish a reset, a reset is basically erasing the preferences file, then letting Lightroom recreate a new one.

Hello. I updated to 8.3 too and my existing publishing services to hard drive are no longer working. I tried to delete and re-create them but now I don't even have permission to select the desired folder. Lightroom says "Cannot write in the specified folder". I've tried on C: and several other locations on my computer. Same error. Please help.

Try going back to previous version in the meantime. You can do this with your Adobe Creative Cloud app.

Inquiry. catalog location, for those with the problem, is your catalog located in the default path:

C:\Users\[user name]\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom Catalog.lrcat. ?

mine is not, I do not have this problem.

I am also experiencing this issue.
Windows 10 x64 users. Writing to Synology NAS over SMB mapped drive. After updating all folders are listed as not writable when selecting to export. The workaround of "Choose later" did work as a temporary workaround.
Looking forward to this being resolved in new update.

I've tried the import today in the morning and it wokr's fine. LR 8.3.1 under Windows 10 Build 1809.

Which operation system do you use?

Do you tried to import from the camera or an card reader?

If you access the camera or card reader will the images be displayed quickly?

What happens when you copied the pictures on your hard disk and try to import from this location?

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo

As your issue involves import not export, and as it appears it may have occurred after the fix for the export issue. I recommend that you create a new discussion. when you do, include your system information.
