Can I install Lr classic on iMac and MacBook with one license?
Yes, you can install the software on unlimited computers, but can use the software on up to two computers (even with different OS) at the same time.
If you want to move the license from one computer to another, you can use this link: Adobe ID and click on "Manage Plans".

Thanks, Bob! But (stupid question) where do I fill out the serial number? I see no option under preferences or elsewhere? What do I miss?

Are you really using Lightroom Classic? Lightroom Classic does not have a serial number. It is linked to your Creative Cloud subscription.

Thanks, Johan! And yes, I'm really using Lr Classic CC. But perhaps I'm confusing two services. When starting up the latest installation of Lr Classic CC I get a message that my test-period only lasts another x days. From your remark I conclude this does not concern the license of Lr Cl CC, but some service in the Creative Cloud, extending it. Could that be?

This is as I understand my Lightroom system with a Subscription-
1. I can (and must!) Install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App on any number of computers. (I have three)
2. I use the CC Desktop App to Install the Creative Cloud Apps (programs) on any number of computers. My Subscription type determines which programs I can Install.
3. I must "Sign In" with the Desktop App to activate the Adobe Programs on a computer.
4. I can only "Sign In" on a maximum of two computers at any one time. (If I want to "Sign In" on a third computer I should first "Sign Out" of another.)
5. My Subscription License states that I cannot use more that one Lightroom computer at the same time.
If you subscribe, and see a "Trial", then you are not "Signed In" with the Desktop App on that computer.
The Desktop App is the 'Master' controller of your Adobe programs for installing, activating, running, updating, etc.

Thanks, Wobert!
Last year I bought a Lr Classic CC license for EUR 134, this, I now know, for multiple install. But now the dektop app seems to force me into subscribing for another package, which I'm not yet interested in. Would this simply disappear after a few day, while "allowing" me to use the package I've already payed for? Anyway, the flow offered is not very transparent in this regard...
Thanks again and kind regards,
Jaap

Lightroom Classic is only available by subscribing to the Photography plan, which also includes Photoshop as well as the cloud-based Lightroom CC. For around € 12 a month, this is a good deal.
The license you bought last year was for the standalone Lightroom 6, which is no longer receiving updates. (6.14 is the latest and final update)

Thank you, Per!
I thought Adobe had stopped Lr Classic CC altogether and changed it for Lr CC. So, to use my multi-instance-license I should go and chase the 6.14 dmg. I might move to subscription later on, but as I bought my copy fairly recently, I want to use it a bit more. For those who have the same issue, the download for LR Classic CC 6 can be found here: Photoshop Lightroom downloaden
Kind regards, Jaap

And to not further confuse anyone: It's just Lightroom 6, not 'Lightroom Classic CC 6'. The name Lightroom Classic CC was introduced with the new subscription only version.
