macOS 15.2

Lr Classic: 14.1.1

Steps:

1. In Develop mode, create a new snapshot for a photo

2. Enter a name for the snapshot in the New Shapshot window and click Create

Results: The New Snapshot window persists as an empty window until the app is canceled.

I just upgraded from Mac OS 15.3.2 to Mac OS 15.5 and no longer observe this bug with the New Snapshot window.

Does anyone else with Mac OS 15.5 and LR 14.3.1 observe the problem?

I observe this bug in LR 14.2 / Mac OS 15.3.2 when doing the menu command Develop > New Snapshot, typing the keyboard shortcut Cmd N, or clicking the + button in the Snapshots panel. Usually I have to give the command 2 - 3 times before the bug occurs.

See here for similar symptoms with plugin dialogs. Given that there are now 9 people reporting this bug, I think Adobe should acknowledge it and enter it into their bug tracking.

I am getting the exact same behaviour on Mac. I had about 15 blank snapshot windows that would not close at one time.

I'm experiencing the same issue with the blank "New Snapshot" window appearing every time I attempt to add a new snapshot. Each time I attempt to add a new snapshot, a new instance of the blank modal window appears and also cannot be closed.

I just got my new MacBook Pro two weeks ago, so it would be odd that it would require a reset of the preferences so soon.

I'd never experienced this issue previously on my older MacBook Pro.

macOS 15.3 Sequoia, LrC 14.2 - blank "New Snapshot" window appears and cannot be closed
macOS 13.7.3 Ventura, LrC 14.1.1 - "New Snapshot" window issue does not occur

Simply click elsewhere in the Ui.

The ghost/empty window will stay in background.

Restart LrC if it's unbearable to work with the ghost/empty window(s).

DO NOT reset the preferences.

That does not work. The snapshot window stays on top permanently

I've experienced this same Snapshot bug for a couple of months now. Resetting prefereces and restarting the app only temporarily fixes it. Have you found a solution for this?

Same thing has been happening to me, too. I have also been having my adjustments randomly reset when switching from the Print module back to the Develop module.

I have the exact same problem.

LR 14.1.1 Macos 15.2 just like you

I end up with several little blank snapshot windows /dialogs open. Only way to get rid of them is restarting Lightroom, otherwise they are permanently on top of the main Lightroom window. This is a new problem.

The shadow/empty modal windows can be dismissed by clicking the Ui.

They come back BUT restarting is not strictly necessary to keep working.

So for instance I restart ONLY when it becomes unbearable to have multiple shadow/empty windows, like 4 of them.

I live with this bug a bit.

Mine remain on top what ever I do. It's a real pain if I'm creating several snapshots.

Hopefully it'll be fixed soon....

I just followed your steps on my Mac running 15.2 and LrC 14.1.1, and cannot reproduce your result. I tried saving multiple snapshots to the same image and multiple images. Is this behavior persistent after quitting/relaunching LrC and/or rebooting?

Thanks, Brian. Yes, I can still reproduce the issue after OS and Lr Classic restarts. Screenshot attached. You'll see that I also attempted to resize the empty dialog during my testing... the dialog height is fixed but I can still adjust the width.

Try resetting the preferences.

Method 3 on this page is the easiest way to do it.

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/reset-preferences.html

If you have changed many settings in the preferences, you may want to take screenshots of all the tabs in the preferences dialog before resetting to make it easier to restore them.
