Have an edited image in Lightroom that I want to continue editing with Photoshop. Right click opens PS but the image doesn't move into PS. Instead the Photoshop window opens with my most recent images showing but no way to move the lightroom image to PS.
Windows 11, PS 24.7.0 and LR 12.5
[Merged several similar messages into this one thread in order not to have the same question (and suggestion to solve it) in several threads. Mod]
I have been reluctant to process this "fix" as I have installed, Topaz, Nik, Sky replacement images etc etc. I assume I will have to do this again after the PS LR reinstall?

Yes, you may have to reinstall some stuff (although you could probably just move the plugins out of the plugins folder and move them back in after reinstalling Photoshop), but do you want to fix this or not? If you want to fix this, then you'll have to accept that it could mean some extra work.

Mac OSX Ventura 13.5
Lightroom Classic 2023 - 12.5 release
Photoshop 2023 - 24.7.0 release
In Lightroom, I use 'open as layers in photoshop' all the time for compositing interior images. Last week the function stopped working?
Today there was a Lightroom update which I was hoping would fix the issue. It hasn't!
I have tried the suggestions stated on previous posts but haven't found a fix as yet.
This is extremely frustrating as has slowed down my workflow immeasurably.
Any and all suggestion are very welcome... especially from Adobe directly.
Cheers
Luke

What is happening:
I select 2 images in Lightroom.
Choose Photo > Edit In > Open As Layers In Photoshop.
Photoshop launches/opens
But nothing further happens.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am having the same issues.

There are a couple remedies already detailed in earlier posts. You have to uninstall Photoshop but keeping preferences using Adobe Creative Cloud. Then reinstall it. That worked for me. Some people say to also uninstall Lightroom - again keep preferences and use Adobe Creative Cloud. Then, install it again. LOL. I did not have to do that. Good luck.

I have had this issue multiple times this year. It appears that the when you have multiple versions of PS installed (24, Beta, 2024) the plugins get "confussed". I resolvede this by unintalling the older versions then reinstalled 2024.

Thank you, but no older or different version are installed. I will try to wait for an update or I will try to re-install photoshop, that was my last updated program...I think it's where the problem is...

After yesterday update the problem was still there, so I uninstalled photoshop including preferences, and re-installed it.
Now it works. Tried the same solution before the update and it didn't solved. You can try the same...

Same problem here. It's already set to Photoshop 2024 (as the only option). It has worked fine before, but then I updated Photoshop two days ago and now nothing happens. Everything is up to date and I have tried to uninstall and install. Nothing works.

I am now having the same problem. Using the CC app to uninstall and then reinstall LrC and PS did not work. Is there a way to save my PS preferences manually before uninstalling and choosing the option to remove them?

I hope you find a way to solve your issue. My programs magically started working again after about a week. I did nothing in that period as I had given up, but then one day I could edit in PS again from Lightroom. Strange.

Well, after trying to remove everything and reinstall from scratch, the Creative Cloud app refuses to work. It looks like I'm in for a spell on the 'phone with Adobe.

Support got me back up and running in no time. Alas, the problem of Lightroom not sending files to Photoshop persists. When I have more time I will ask for help with that problem.

I tried uninstall/reinstall multiple times. No luck. I finally bit the bullet and did an online chat. The agent was very good. They tried multiple fixes and ended up clearing out all PS and LR files and doing a total clean install. 3-1/2 hours. It now works correctly. Painful. Adobe agent did a great job and stuck with it.
