I like the AI Generative Remove, even on this early stage. There is a lot to learn, possibly every situation is different, and many situations need different aproach.
I think it is irrelevant to talk about remove or replace. Every object we remove from a photo, has to be replaced by something. Otherwise there will be a blanc space or a hole in the photo. I think some background or combination of background and object has to be filled in.
I will show two photos, that are very different.
The person leaving the consert is maybe quite simple.
The microphone in the face of the artist was very difficult. The microphone, tripod and wire had to be removed in increments. I guess many situations are not a one-click-remove, but need more than one step and some finetuning.

Did you have Object Aware selected? Using your screenshot with Object Aware selected, it didn't automatically select the entire microphone and cable, and I had to manually use Add to include them all in the selection. But then Apply did a good job of replacing the entire selection on the first try:
Still finding my way with this but certainly looks like the shadow - I did a quick hack just
object selecting the sign and got a grey box
There's quite a clear square shadow on the floor and manually adding that, and anything that could be a shadow of the sign took the sign straight out...

Your screenshot shows there are two selections of the bird in the background:
You are tripping over a design misfeature of LR Classic that isn't present in LR Desktop or Camera Raw. To remove an object, you need to select all of its disconnected pieces. But in LR Classic, when you click Add to select the second disconnected piece, LR inexplicably treats that as a second selection, not as part of the first selection. (The two selections are displayed as separate pins, as in your screenshot.) Then when you click Apply, Remove processes the first selection, generating a replacement that considers the second piece still present, then it processes the second selection.
The workaround is to select all of disconnected pieces with connected brush strokes and then use Subtract to remove parts you don't want selected. See this article for a more detailed explanation with examples:
When I use this workaround with your screenshot, Remove quickly removes all traces of the background bird.
