Since the last update 14.0..1 my copy and paste is not working as it used to. I can now only past once and if i want to paste same settings which were copied I have to recopy the settings again to past onto another image. Saw some people have simiir issues. I tried to reset prefrences but that did not work. in the past I copy as setting of one photo and paste to other photos as long as I needed it , now that does not work for me anymore.

I was finally able to replicate on a similarly spec'ed 2017 MBPr and have written a bug.

It appears the Copy function is fine but the Paste operation is failing intermittently.

Thanks for the report and additional information.

A new update for Adobe Photography Products has been released.  The December update contains an update for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

just another update as i am working on lightroom classic right now. it is actually worse. I have to go back and forth to copy  the settings up to  three times before the settigns are pasting and then they paste once and have to start all over again with the copy and past process . it is a nightmare right now as it takes forever to get work done.

ok another update I think I have found what causes the issues it has to do with Graphic Processor settings, I have mine on off as i have issues when its one. Images turn black and when exporting photos look like on a cracked screen. Anyway turning it on make the copy and past ok again. When turning it off copy and past is not functioning proper

This very same thing is happening to me and it's becoming quite the chore to try and get weddings done efficently. I've also tried manually forcing graphics acceleration. I have an M1 macbook pro.

@Bernd Rac  I have been unable to reproduce your issue. To that end, I would recommend resetting your preferences.

This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

If you are using Lightroom Desktop, it can change your local storage location. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.

that was actually the first thing i did , before even posting my issues and did not work. I think it has to do the with Graphic cards settings . As set when I turn them on to auto then the copy and paste is working , as soon i turn the setting to off the copy and paste is not working. on my machine the problem is when the setting is set to auto it works for a while but then the image you are working on is turning black . Which is a older problem and never got solved hence i had the setting on off. here is a screenshot of the setting which seems to working right now . I can copy and past and the images do not turn black, Lightroom is not as quick but better then not working

but I was running the same  OS version before the latest lightroom version , and it worked fine then, with graphics card off and copy and paste work. but right after the upgrade to lightroom 14.0.1 and Camera Raw 17 the issue with the copy and past started

Are you able to disable the Intel card? Generally, Lightroom Classic doesn't like competing GPU devices.

same problem with the 14.0.1 update.

related post last month, i was consistently getting that error message in LRC 13, : "some masking models failed to download. please try again later", when using presets, gave up trying to fix it with the suggested solutions (none of which worked for me) and hoped it would be addressed in an update. well, i updated to LRC 14.0.1 yestereday and now not only do the presets still not work and give the same error message but i now get that error message when i simply try to copy and paste edit settings from one picture to another, even when there are no masks in the copied settings.  as you noted it is extremely frustrating as copy/paste picture settings are used all the time. have reset preferences and doesn't fix either of the problems. on a mac M1 laptop, 16 gigs RAM and 14.7 sonoma OS.

I've noticed that when copying my settings, if I leave cropping unchecked then pasting works just fine, at least for the last 400 images for me anyways.

the copy/.paste problem is not intermittent here, it consistently fails and gives the same error message:

"some masking models failed to download. please try again later" (someone did manage to correct the spelling in the error message from pease to please).

have tried isolating different check boxes (ie crop, mask settings) of what gets copied in the copy dialog but it always fails with that same message. sync settings doesn't work either. any suggestions on the failed presets which also give the same error message?

Other folks that I know, personally, are experiencing this issue too. This is so disruptive to our workflow, and unfortunately a few catalogs that we had already run through AI were updated with this vrsion of Lightroom, so we can't downgrade yet. After using Lightroom for over a decade this is by far the worst rollout of Lightroom I've seen and I hope Adobe can get a resolution out for this ASAP because this is costing us a lot of time and unnecesscary clicks...

I have the same issue, but I don't think the copy is failing intermittently -- I think it is taking forever.

In my case, the past might eventually apply, but it appears to have to round-trip through sync to the cloud.

A similar issue with "Auto" exposure button - it would appear not to work - but if you wait long enough (sometimes 5-10 minutes or longer), it does work.  Confounding is that if you subsequently adjust any edit setting manually, it does work, and (perhaps has a later timestamp than) the Auto or Paste Settings that is still to apply, which then don't work.  Try Auto or Paste and leave it for a long time.  See if it works eventually.

I am having the exact same issues with the newest LRC update. I can't copy and paste more than once in develope module, and somtimes when I click copy settings, it flat out won't do it. It was also not copy and paste settings from previous images. I can go to Library and synch settings no problem but this nee update has completely messed up copy and paste settings in develope module. I have reset preferences and that didn't help. So frustrated. How long before we get a bug patch to fix it?

I have the same issue.
MacBook Pro M1 2021, Lightroom Classic 14.0.1.
When graphics setting is set to "off" I can copy settings but not paste them on the first attempt. I have to go back to the source image and copy again, sometime 2-3 times exactly as Bernd Rac described.
Setting graphics setting to auto seems to solve the issue.

I switched the graphics setting to off because otherwise it creates RAM usage of 20gb or more with huge swap files.

setting graphics processor to AUTO doesn't fix the problem here, copy/paste settings fails consistently with the same error message no matter what check boxes are checked to be copied and pasted. red banner error message:

"some masking models failed to download. please try again later"

this is the same error message i also get when trying to apply adobe color presets & presets i have created. hoping for a fix or update soon. this has been broken for over two weeks, the preset failure has been even longer with no solution.

I never encountered ANY error message. Paste just didn't happen, that's it.
If you ask me there are two different problems here: 1) Fail to paste (or copy) and 2) failing to paste something because of the contents of the clipboard.

But that's only my guess.

Having this same issue with the latest update (14.0.1). Cannot copy/paste beyond one photo. Have to continually go back and copy again to be able to paste settings. Autosync works but this is not my normal workflow. I need the ability to copy/paste as I move through my culled collection.

And to add: Sometimes copy/paste doesn't even work on the first attempt.
