I could use some help. I also do not know very much about LrC, so please be kind. I am a basic user (and could use a class on how to use LrC more in depth). I have some photos I want to export, but it keeps getting hung up (see photo). I can wait forever and it doesn't change. I have tried to export each photo one by one, and some will go and some will get stuck. I am not sure why some photos are causing this vs. others going. They are all .jpg photos (no .mov and no .heic photos). Can anyone give me advice on what to try? I am updated to the latest firmware for LrC and my Mac OS. Thanks.
I wish I could. I honestly used ChatGPT, and it problem solved it all the way. My catalog was so corrupted I am not sure how to explain without loading pages and pages of conversation with ChatGPT. And I'm not sure it would be helpful. All I can say is, you helped by identifying the problem (corrupt catalog) and Chat walked me through the steps, especially walking around all the issues that came up.

1. As a first step, please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.
2. For a particular photo that gets stuck, will it get stuck each time you try to export it individually? Or does it eventually export?

2. Yes, it gets stuck when I try to export it individually. My work around was to try and find the picture on my phone and re-import it to see if that helps. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. Then when I try to export the whole folder again, another photo will do the same. I've never had this issue before.

I don't recall hearing those precise symptoms before -- strange.
You could narrow down whether it's the catalog causing the issues: In LR, do File > New Catalog to create a test catalog. Then import a bunch of the problem photos from their current locations on your Mac, using the Import Add option (so they don't get copied or moved by importing). Does the problem occur with the test catalog?

Thank you, John. I did as you recommended and created a test catalog and imported the problem photos from their current location. That went well. Then I exported them easily onto my desktop. Does this mean the problem is the catalog? And is that a simple fix?

It does indicate the problem could be with the catalog, though it's not definitive.
You could create a "clean" duplicate of your main catalog with these steps:
1. Do File > New Catalog and open that new catalog.
2. Do File > Import From Another Catalog, browse to your main catalog, and use these options:
3. See if the problem occurs with this duplicate catalog.

John, thank you for these clear directions. I was able to do most of it, however the section above that says "Changed Existing Photos" and "Replace: Metadata, etc" was greyed out and said "Nothing" so I was not able to select it. I went forward importing only a few folders. They worked fine. Is there a way to completely new catalog with all the same photos/information? And would that fix the problem? And lastly, is there something I am doing to cause this problem? Thanks so much for your help.

"the section above that says "Changed Existing Photos" and "Replace: Metadata, etc" was greyed out and said "Nothing" so I was not able to select it."
That's to be expected -- the photos getting imported weren't in the new (empty) catalog, so there were none that had changed.
"I went forward importing only a few folders. They worked fine. Is there a way to completely new catalog with all the same photos/information?"
Do the procedure again, but this time select All Folders to bring in all the photos. Then test again.

It's ok John, I'm trying to figure out why my catalog is corrupted. This may take some time, but I'm trying to fix it with ChatGPT. Who knows if that will work, but it's the best I've got. Thanks for your help.

"I did the above (and also made sure to test the Integrity of the catalog and Optimized the catalog). It won't work. I get the error message below: Lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error."
So indeed, this more strongly indicates your main catalog is corrupted.
You could try another workaround that often works in these cases: In the main catalog, do File > Export As Catalog with none of the options at the bottom selected:
If that succeeds, open the exported catalog and test if it has the same problem.
If it doesn't succeed, then you can sometimes get Adobe to repair the catalog. But that requires potentially spending a long time with Adobe support before they'll submit the catalog internally for repair, which could be painful.

Hi John, thank you again so much for your help. You were correct, I did have a corrupt catalog. I was able to repair it and so far, it seems like things are fine. Just wanted to say thank you again! Have a great night.

Excellent.
To help others who might have similar symptoms, could you provide details on how you (or Adobe support) repaired the catalog?

That's good news for you and possibly encouraging that ChatGPT may be getting better at technical advice. AI bots often give garbled instructions for more technical issues, and it can be hard to tell what parts are wrong, given the bots always speak with an authoritative voice.
