Hi,
I came across a bug in Lightroom, and I hope that you can help me to fix it.
When I import an image into Lightroom, it has pixelated edges as shown below.
The same image is fine if I use an online DNG to JPG converter.
Lightroom:
Online converter:
Operating System: Windows 10 (current version)
Lightroom version: 5.7.1 (new installed)
Thanks & regards,
Mark
Thanks for your help. I think that this happens because Adobe does not provide a profile for my lens (M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14‑42mm 1:3.5‑5.6 EZ Pancake). I heard that the profile should be included in the image file intead, so maybe my camera messed this up. The images you downloaded were apparently taken with another lens. As a student, I do not have the money for a new version of Lightroom, so I will just stick with RawTherapee. This tool is much more complicated than Lightroom, but it correctly

It would be helpful if you provided details on:
Also, why. do you mention DNG to JPG convertor?

I mentioned the DNG to JPG converter to show you that this is not a camera bug. It is a problem with Lightroom.

Your problem looks same as what was reported for the Canon GX 1 back in January here:
Lightroom/Camera Raw: Canon G1X mark 3 displays artifacts | Photoshop Family Customer Community
Using the provided test images, that problem looks to have been fixed. So Adobe did something to correct the issue and it was not data corruption.
However, you are using a quite old version of Lightroom (5.71) so in your case I would suggest trying the trial versions of LR6.14 and Lightroom Classic CC 7.5 before submitting a new bug report.
The issue with your camera may also have resolved in one of many updates since LR5.71 came out.
If it does not work in Classic 7.5 then submit a new bug report to: Post a Conversation | Photoshop Family Customer Community
(LR6.14 is the last update for the perpetual version, so no additional fixes will be available for that version of Lightroom.)

I downloaded raw file samples here https://www.photographyblog.com/previews/yi_m1_photos and don't see the issue in LR 7.5. To rule out camera issues (i.e. firmware) please post one of your DNG files to Dropbox or other file sharing site and we can check it in LR 7.5.

Todd: I downloaded several DNG samples from the same site and imported into LR5.71 that I still have installed on my desktop. All those images are ok.
mark-94: The online jpg convertor has automatically cropped out the distorted left/bottom sections of the original photo. It seems that LR should be doing the same thing but for some reason it has not done so. When you import both jpg's into LR and toggle back/forth you can see the edges change. (the pixel dimensions are the same for both images).
Some specific camera setting may be messing up LR... we will see once you post one of your own samples with the problem.

Two of the Yi M1 DNG sample files I downloaded don't show a 'Built-In Profile' inside LR 7.5. The images also don't exhibit the edge artifacts you are seeing. If there 's is no built-in profile embedded in the DNG file LR simply doesn't apply any correction for distortion or vignetting. If you haven't done so already you may want to update the camera's firmware to the latest version (3.2) and see if that corrects the issue in LR 5.71.
