I have 1 keyword that is followed by a + (plus sign). What does this indicate?

Please show a screen shot of it.
Does it have any number to the right of it?
Is the plus sign just slightly to the right of the name? If it is then it might be part of the Keyword, like People +.
Right click on the keyword name and select Edit Keyword tag. Does the plus sign appear in the name? If it does remove it.

Hi John,
There's a + sign next to (i.e. to the right of) one of my keywords. The + sign is not part of the keyword name, and it's not part of the currently nominated keyword set. I'm confused about this. My larger issue is that whenever I try to add this keyword to the existing keyword set, it disappears at the end of the session - that is, it simply won't save when I try to update/change the keyword set. I've been trying to fix this for ages, with no success.

Can you please post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Also, since this is an 8 year old post, which exact version of Lightroom Classic are you using?

Hi John,
First - my post was today, i.e. 13 September 2024, and I'm using the current version of Lightroom Classic.
Screenshot follows. The keyword I'm referring to is "Family book +". The + sign is not part of the name, which is "Family book". Additionally, as I mentioned, whenever I try to add "Family book" to a Keyword set, it remains for the duration of the session. I close Lightroom, turn off my computer, start Lightroom again the next day, and that keyword has disappeared from the Keyword set to which I added it the previous day.
Thanks in advance, and I totally understand if you don't know what's happening here...I certainly can't work it out!
Nick.
