Problem with presets and the standard Adobe profile and the Sony A1II with version 14.5

The new version has finally fixed the color issues with the Sony A1 II, but this creates problems with presets purchased from creators or presets created by clicking on a preset, which will set the default profile to Adobe Standard V1 instead of V2. You have to modify each preset one by one and update it with the Adobe Standard V2 profile. However, this is not a problem if your preset is set to Adobe Colors by default, as no V2 profile has been created for it. I don't understand why Adobe decided to create an Adobe Standard V2 profile.

"I don't understand why Adobe decided to create an Adobe Standard V2 profile."

The original version of Adobe Standard for the Sony A1 II was subpar:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-color-issue-with-raw-files-from-sony-a1-ii-a...

At least some users worked around that by adjusting Develop settings. If instead of releasing a V2 version Adobe simply changed the original version of Adobe Standard, those users' photos would no longer render the way they did when they were last edited by the user.

A general principle of LR is that the rendering of edited photos won't change with new releases of LR.

No, because adobe color didn't get v2 and old photos with the Adobe color profile with theb14.5 update will no longer be good.

"No, because adobe color didn't get v2 and old photos with the Adobe color profile with theb14.5 update will no longer be good."

Yes. Your assumption is incorrect.

Sony A1 II photos edited in LR 14.4 and earlier with profile Adobe Color explicitly reference Adobe Standard (version 1). When you edit and export such photos in LR 14.5, internally they retain that reference to Adobe Standard (version 1), and they will be rendered in 14.5 exactly the same as in 14.4.

But photos newly assigned Adobe Color in LR 14.5 explicitly reference Adobe Standard v2.

As an example, this is the appearance of a Sony A7 II raw edited and exported from LR 14.4:

DSC00987.14.4.v1.jpg

It has the exact same appearance when exported from LR 14.5:

DSC00987.14.5.v1.jpg

But after removing the photo from the catalog, deleting its .xmp sidecar, reimporting it, and applying the same edits, its colors are different due to Adobe Color now referencing internally Adobe Standard v2 (look at the blue "45" on the player's jersey):

DSC00987.14.5.v2.jpg

By looking at the .xmp sidecars, you can see that they explicitly reference a particular version of Adobe Standard.  The relevant lines from the 14.4 sidecar are:

   crs:CameraProfile="Adobe Standard"
   <crs:Look>
    <rdf:Description
     crs:Name="Adobe Color"

The relevant lines from the 14.5 sidecar after reimporting it contain a reference to Adobe Standard v2:

   crs:CameraProfile="Adobe Standard v2"
   <crs:Look>
    <rdf:Description
     crs:Name="Adobe Color"

I understand, I'm talking about presets purchased from creators based on Adobe Standard. Unfortunately, they all need to be modified because it selects Adobe Standard v1 and not version v2.... I don't know if you understand what I mean.

I responded to what you wrote above, "because adobe color didn't get v2 and old photos with the Adobe color profile with the 14.5 update will no longer be good."  It's important that this forum have accurate information, because future readers rely on what they read here.

But with regards to your last point, "presets purchased from creators based on Adobe Standard. Unfortunately, they all need to be modified because it selects Adobe Standard v1 and not version v2":

I agree with that. Presets include references to the specific version of included profiles. This ensures that the effect of the preset doesn't change when new versions of the profiles are released -- the user or preset developer is assured that it behaves exactly as when it was defined.
