"Edit in Photoshop 2023" not available in "Edit in" Lightroom Classic Dropdown

I am not familiar with using this site.  I searched for this topic and I found it, and it says "correct answer here", but there's no way for me to open that information to read what's there.

Anyway, it seems since an update that when I right-click and select "Edit In" in LrC that Photoshop 2023 is missing.  Thank you. (Also, I do not have Luminar Neo or ON1--those are there from previous trials of those programs so how do I remove those as well)?

Do you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements installed? In you screenshot it shows Photoshop Elements.

When the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, the first step is to try this:

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Application to uninstall Photoshop. When asked, keep preferences! After this reinstall Photoshop again.

If this doesn't help the next step is to reinstall both apps, Lightroom and Photoshop. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Client and uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. When asked, keep preferences!
  2. Install Photoshop first and then Lightroom Classic. The right order is very important here!

This sounds like more than I want to take on. Maybe I'll just call Adobe. I looked at my Preferences and the only one listed is Adobe Photoshop Elements. I can't even select Adobe Photoshop 2023 in the Preferences drop-down.

Many thanks!

Do you have Photoshop 2023 installed OR just Photoshop Elements (a different product)?

Again, when the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, one of the first things to try is this:
1. Use the Adobe Creative Cloud application to uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic and when asked, keep preferences.
2. Install Photoshop first, then Lightroom Classic. The order of the product installed is what is very important here.
Better?

I have Adobe Creative Cloud with both PS and LrC. OK, well hopefully
nothing will get messed up. I'll try it afterwhile. Will I have to set up
all my panels again, etc.? And what about all the brushes that have been
downloaded?

Thanks!

It is always a good idea to save your brushes, actions etc.

Do the uninstall and save preferences.

For as much that is involved and being concerned if somethings going to go wrong or if I’m going to have to download hundreds of brushes again, I will just save my Lightroom images to my electronic folder on my hard drive and open them up directly through Photoshop. Most of the time I prefer to use Camera Raw in Photoshop he sake of simplicity.

I have kept your emails in case I feel enthusiastic about doing all this. I don’t like to do what I don’t fully understand and haven’t done before.

Thank you!

Hi ,

Can you please share screenshots of what you see in

1. System Info (Lightroom Help -> System info)

2. Preferences-> External Editing and also the Edit in PS version dropdown.

Note: If you dont have PS versions installed, you will not see anything in the dropdown

As all suggested, please confirm what version of PS is installed in your machine.

Thanks,

Arjun
