I had everything working properly and running LR 6 with updates(6.14) . I setup a new computer, and installed LR6 and ran the updates, but it didn't install them. So its on 6.0 / CR 9.0 vs my old PC having updated to 6.14 with Camera Raw 10.1.
Is this the reason the files are encountering a problem?
I read the other thread of a similar error massage, and its the same here. There is no HDD issue.
Are there locations of downloading the updates without using LR update? as it keeps saying I am all up to date. Also, will that fix my issue? Hoping it does! Another solution was to see where all the raw codecs are in my old install and copy them into the new system and see if it works then?
My Photoshop CS6 is on v13. which says the same on my old system as well.
Also, there should be a way to deactivate a license in use for these apps, as my CC service software allows from the website login. On purchased apps, I did not see this option. I was trying to confirm one or other machines being deactivated, but its not clear.

Lr6 is very old and not supported anymore by Adobe. https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/lightroom-6-end-of-support.html
Before moving or throwing away the old computer, make sure to sign out of Lightroom.
What is the source of the file/photo?
Search the web archive for 6.14 versions of Lightroom.

I followed the links and says the latest is 7.2 which would be nice to get, but I dont even see a 6.14 update to download. The links lead to CC. Where can I find a Lightroom update for 6? thank you!

Nope. The successor of your Lr 6 is Lightroom Classic, version 13.2.
The current version v7.2 is "plain" Lightroom, the cloud based solution.
As mentioned before, Adobe does not offer downloads for these very old versions. That's why I said to search the web archive. https://web.archive.org/

This error message indicates the file is corrupted somehow, and you cannot use it. Best to restore a backup copy of this photo.

"Indication" is often VERY different from reality. You gave a text book answer to a non textbook situation. There is another locked post with this issue, and a few people in that thread had the same issue, non of them had a corrupt file or HDD issue. Same here. That is not the issue. I think my OP even mentions this.

I will stick with my belief that it is a corrupted file, until there is evidence to indicate otherwise.
