I am new to Classic. Many of my recent imported photos have splashes of red (paint like) in light areas of the photos. If I import the same photos to Lightroom, instead of Classic, the photos do not have this problem. Any ideas?
You should only be seeing this in the Develop module. Yes?
Its an exposure warning. Look in the Histogram on the upper right. You will see a small triangle in the laft and right corners of the histogram. Clicking on those activates the warnings.
Alternatively press the "J" key to toggle the warnings on/off.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic reports it. In Lightroom Classic click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that into a reply. Interested in info from first line down to just past plug-in info.

The Shadows/highlights clipping indicator is actually a useful tool in LR once you learn how to use it.
