Hey gang,
I work off of a hard drive 99% of the time and I've noticed everytime I turn off or restart my computer the images in my timeline are no longer recognized by LR. This also happens in PP when I'm working on a project and am unable to get the footage back online. What in the world is going on and how can I get these images and footage back in order to complete these projects.? I've noticed if I work off of a file on my computer this doesn't happen, but it's not a feasible solution for the amount of work I do in a week. Any help is greatly appreciated! TIA

HA! I never knew that about the F1 button. That will make things much easier. Appreciate your help!

No on the Copy, Move, Add. I literally drag the folder from Seagate to LR. LR will then open an import screen and ask if I want them imported.

Copy, Move, Add is a selection at the top of the Import screen. Please paste a copy of the Import screen in a reply here so we can determine what settings you're using.
How are you getting your camera images onto the external drive? You can do this with the LR Import module using a direct USB camera connection or memory card reader. This will "copy" the files to a destination folder on your external drive AND import the image files into LR all in one-step!

I use Bridge to get my images off of my card and onto the hard drive.
