Restore presets

Hello, so I backed up Lightroom catalog on desktop, deleted it and then whipped out the computer. Now when I download Lightroom everything is gone. How can I get it back ?

Sorry, but I don't understand exactly what's your problem is. Please described your problem more detailed.

What do you mean with "everything is gone"?

Do you have only backuped your catalog?

When you have reinstalled your computer you have restore your photos, presets, catalog(s) and so on from thr recent backup.

And what did you back up? You say you only backed up the catalog. Did you back up the photos? Don't you previously have backups of everything anyway?

Presets are not part of the catalog, they are stored elsewhere. So if you only backed up the catalog, and then wiped clean your entire computer, then you deleted the presets and won't get them back through the catalog backup. I hope you also backed up your images, because these are also not part of the catalog...

If you Saved the Catlaog file to the Desktop of the same Computer you Wiped Out you also Wiped Out ALL information on that computer including any Files you Saved to the Desktop.

You needed to Save all the file you wanted to keep to some other drive, like an External drive, other than the one you Wiped Out.
