Not sure this is a new bug or an issue with my catalogs or both, but after installing v13.5, LRC became very sluggish in several operations. Issues are not constant, they come and go every 5-10 minutes...I made a list:
This is what I already tried to fix the issues, nothing worked.
My machine is a Mac Studio M1 Max running on MacOs Sonoma 14.6.1, everything updated to latest version, 64GB of RAM, all files on SSDs (catalog on internal SSD and RAWs/cache on 2 external Samsung T7 SSDs directly plugged via USB-C to machine. All SSDs having more than 50% free space). Apple Studio Display. Catalog has 35K pictures, 800 albums, including mostly Fujifilm RAWs, JPG, HEIC and some TIFFs. I have 4 installed plugins, LR Mogrify 2, JPEGmini, LensTagger EXIF Tool and WP/LR Sync. These plugins have been installed since years ago but issues started just since the introduction of version 13.
Every new update makes things worse, not sure what else I can try. Any recommendations are welcome.

1. After editing a picture, it takes several seconds to update metadata
see, perhaps:
2. When I am in develop module, I can not longer navigate to next or previous image using left or right arrows. I have to switch no library module to do that or click with the mouse in the desired image.
See, perhaps:

Thanks for taking the time to check!

A general inquiry. This related to slow performance in various Library edits.

all SSDs have around 50% free space, the one with the catalog has 60% free

And an odd inquiry. This one would be more of a suspect on Windows, not MACOS. In your LrC /Help/System Info/, what is shown for the Library Path?
Some Windows members accidentally due to Microsoft being a nuisance, sometimes have something like:
Library Path: C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom.lrcat
Meaning the Cloud is involved, bad. I doubt that a MACOS user has this, but....

Sure, I see the path is local:
Library Path: /Users/username/Pictures/[LR]/LR/LR-v13.lrcat
not sure if the "[ ]" may affect LR?

I am not sure n that. However, if you bring up LrC /Preferences/File Handling/ and look at the File Name Generation, you can treat [ } as illegal (optionally) . Might differ between Windows and MACOS. Might not be an issue at all.
But at least you are not keeping that catalog on the cloud or automatically syncing to the cloud (bad)

I went ahead and created a folder [LrC] and created a new catalog in it.
Library Path: W:\Active Projects\Photography\[LrC]\OddPathTest\OddPathTest.lrcat
I do not get that error. So, no, I do not think [] is an issue (at least not in Windows)
