lightroom classic 15.3.1. – yes i know, it is not the latest version, but i tried 14.1. and it was a complete mess. so i had to reinstall the older version. Worked fine until yesterday, unfortunately during a sports event, when it decided to slow down immediately. I had set up an automatic import– didn't work, export extreme slowly, restarted it several times, restarted the computer… this program gets on my nerves and costs me time and money. Did run a diagnostic... yesterday night all over a sudden it worked, but this morning no import … again… any ideas?

There is no Lightroom Classic 15.3.1. Are you perhaps confusing the Lightroom Classic version number with the MacOS version number?

This is most likely a hardware malfunction. The camera card or card reader is bad; or the cables used are malfunctioning.

NO. The files are perfect OK. It would be very strange that all cards (used several) and readers (two types) would be bad.

Make sure that you select the card reader that shows up under 'Files' rather than 'Devices'. This is Adobe's default import path as it avoids some bugs (Apple) within the Devices path that can cause performance issues, etc.

I don't import directly to lightroom. Nobody has this amount of time. For the first review i import in photomechanics and then normally i do an automated import from a special folder.

@user3756666 , any specific reason you have not upgraded to the latest version of LrC 14.2 ?

Severe problems as well at least with 14.1. I need lightroom during sports events it was so freaking slow and did't work at all. No or only slow syncing, export or whatever. Almost as bad as now, but even worse and since i need the program often i don't dare to upgrade again. For example wanted to start an export – took at least 30 seconds for the program to react .... so to show the window where to put the export files – no raw files but jpgs.

Mac or PC?
Have you tried a different USB port on your computer? I had two different MacBook Pros with defective USB ports.

No no no, the files are OK. The photos were previously stored on the hard disc.
