Hey there,
Recently, I was trying some presets on a photo in Lightroom Classic 8.4 on Windows. After applying the preset "Modern 09" I noticed it makes the left border of the histogram shift to the right, making the histogram "range" smaller. I really like that effect of the preset in particular, but I couldn't find a way to shift the borders of the histogram other than by applying this specific preset.
I also tried messing with the tone curves feature in Lightroom, but I'm honestly not really familiar with it.
I guess besides certain effects on the contrast and saturation of specific photos, shifting the maximum black and white values could also come in handy when printing.
Could anybody please explain how to change the "borders" of the histogram without the use of a preset?
Thanks!
M.
In the Tone Curve just drag the Left Point UP before you do anything else in the tone curve. You will see the left side of the Histogram slide to the right.
"Modern 09" is a 'Profile' (Not a Preset) so it will modify the image independently of any Basic slider settings.
You can easily change the Blacks and Whites with adjustments to the Tone Curve (and make Presets)-
(Bob just beat me to it!)

Hi Wobert (and Bob),
Thank you both very much for the illustrated answers! Exactly what I was looking for 🙂
