I am looking for workflow suggestions when working with large quanities of images. I shoot action photography. One event my have 2000+ images in the camera. I usually favorite my images using Canon's 5 star rating in the camera. I don't believe there is a way to import only the starred images in Lightroom. If I am wrong, please help me discover how to do this. I rarely need to import all 2000+ images, so it seems like a waste of time and space.
I tried using Bridge, but am not familiar with the application. I was able to filter only the starred images in Bridge, but then it appears I need to export them to a folder and then import them into Lightroom.
There has to be a better way. No?

Consider using ADD instead of Copy when importing. And when you import them, select minimal preview.
This can save some overall time to get the photos onto the computer and into the catalog at the expense of some initial preview creation when you start to Develop. It is a time management technique.

In the Import dialog, if you instead choose the option for [Embedded & Sidecar], this will eliminate having to create any previews at the import step- so even faster than 'Minimal'.
Embedded previews in the camera files will be suitable for culling, and applying star-rating in Lr-Classic might be easier than in-camera.
