Sync error when closing LRC

When closing LRC, I get "photos still syncing" message, even though the sync will never complete "next time."  This kind of hangup has happened before, but I don't remember how to fix it.   Do I need to find the photo in question and either delete or rename it?  How would I do that, please? Or is there a better solution?

(Windows laptop running latest version of LRC.)

Is syncing going on actively ?
Please check whether you have any sync activity going on still. Preferences > Lightroom Sync > Sync Activity.
Please check whether there are any sync errors in your catalog under "All Sync Errors". Clear if any errors are present.

There is one image syncing--which never finishes. It seems to be forever
trying to upload metadata. There is no "All Sync Errors" so presumably no
cloud sync issue.
Now that I see where to find it, I can probably just delete the image in
Preferences. Then the problem will go away, but I'll lose the image, alas,
whatever it is (no way to tell).

Thank you for your help.
