Sync errors in 11.0.1 - rolled back to 10.4

After fighting for days with the sync function of 11.0.1 (windows 10 OS) I have rolled-back to 10.4 and now everything works as expected. 

I had tried all tricks I could find icluding the reset and deletion of the sync data. However, the system always got stuck and stopped updating. From what I read from other users, there is a significant bug in the v11 sync function. 

As it now works all fine with 10.4 it cannot be my photos or similar. It was something in V11 that caused the malfunction.

Hi @Jschmittat ,

Can you explain the issue in detail please? When you say system got stuck, does it mean Lightroom is freezing or the images are stuck from being uploaded/downloaded? 

Please share your system info along with the diagnostic report (Preferences -> Lightroom Sync -> Hold Alt key to generate diagnostic report)

You can also share a screen recording video of the issue you are facing.

Dear Arjun, 

 

thank you. I meant that the images are stuck from being uploaded / downloaded. 

I have tried the rebuild of the sync data (after holding the ALT key) and also fully deleted the sync files. No changes. There were some error messages but I was able to delete all respective photos. At the end the status windows was empty but no new photos were downloaded from the cloud. 

 

I cannot provide any log files as I am now back on 10.4. Given that a number of other users seem to have the same problem I just wanted to encourage them to test the roll-back.

Dear Arjun, 

just tested it again on a new laptop (Surface Pro8. Win11, Lightroom Classic 11.1) and nothing changed. 

Lightroom stops synchronizing and adds all new photos taken with my mobile phone to the "outstanding" list. 

Please see screenshot of the sync dialog attached. I also have the lrsync_log.html file but I was unable to attach as html files are not allowed?

I upgraded to V11.1 --> no changes, no downloads of photos imported from other devices

Rebuild of Sync data --> new photos are downloaded. Sync works once

Afterwards, sync gets stuck again. new photos are not downloded.

What is the latest status on this issue? 
Do you see any 'Sync Errors' ?

Since you have uploaded them from phone, can you confirm if all the photos are uploaded from phone to cloud?

You can check in https://lightroom.adobe.com/

In 11.1, you can share the diagnostic logs to my email (haarithg@adobe.com) or private message me.

Hi @arjunhaarith

it is working now. 

I have left Lightroom Classic open for about a week. Nothing really happened (apart from from photos being update on Metadata) but at the end of the time period, Lightroom Classic started to download new photos again. Yes, the new photos were always completely uploaded into the cloud. 

When I now upload new photos into the cloud, it sometimes takes several hours for them to appear in Lightroom Classic but at least the syncc process is now working as intended.
