Why is there this annoying question in Classic now whether I want to sync a catalog being opened instead of the one already synced? At least give users the option to not show it again.
And ironic to ask about syncing another catalog when sync is so incredibly fickle and unreliable with the one already being synced.

I never get this dialog when I open another catalog. Is this perhaps a copy of the synced catalog? If it is a copy, then the option to sync it may still be turned on, and that is why Lightroom Classic asks you if you really want to sync it, and warns you what the consequences would be.

Nope, completely different catalogs. And ones I've never chosen to sync. In fact one was a brand new catalog. This is a new thing happening for me.

Try resetting the preferences. It's possible that enable sync is stuck in there.

Resetting prefs had no effect. Dialog box still appears.

Also, without being perfectly certain, this seems to have started about the same time I updated to 13.2 a few days ago. I hope this isn't a new "feature".

No, this is not a new feature. Like I said, I do not see this using the same version.

Going back a version (13.1) alleviated the issue.

Mistakenly chose to upgrade to 13.2 again. Sync question on every catalog open is still there.

I had this issue as well, and found a solution - quit LRc delete the "YourCatalogName Sync.lrdata" file and restart LRc.
I had mistakenly tried to sync a catalog that was not the main catalog I typically use with Sync. You're only allowed 1 catalog to sync from. Cancelled out of it instead of swapping which catalog to sync, but it kept giving me the dailogue box on every launch, and only that catalog was effected. Tried deleting the Sync.lrdata file on a whim, since I had no useful data in it as I had never actually synced that catalog, and it worked.
Hope this is a solution for you as well.

Very strange. Sync is so broken in Classic that usually it is impossible to get it to sync even on one catalog without invoking all kinds of voodoo so strange that you're getting this dialog on random catalogs. I am not seeing that myself.

Sync voodoo is right!
