I am digitising old slides with my Canon 5D Mk III with a reprostand and a lightbox. When i use tethering, the images appear randomly in landscape or portrait, regardless of whether the subject on the original slide is in portrait or landscape. This is somewhat disappoiting because i regularly have to manually rotate the image 90 degrees.
Anyone any idea how i can fix this?
@ Todd said, when the camera is pointed straight down the tilt sensor can't RELIABLY detect portrait or landscape. Turn rotation OFF in the camera menus. At least they will all come in landscape. You have to rotate the ones that were portrait on film anyway so not a big issue.

This is expected behavior unless you rotate the camera so that it's tilt sensor switches the orienation to match the subject orienation.
