Transitions dans les selections

Sep 19, 2025 Sep 19, 2025

Transitions are still not that... When I select a sky in a landscape, I often have to subtract the vegetation (trees) and then it gets bad. I have a white border around the treetops that is difficult to select. If I push the highlight or haze correction slider a little to the left, it gives a not very pretty effect on this border. Have you found a solution to this problem?

thank you in advance for your answers

Hi @MARCEL34521755ixpi

Thanks for reporting this. To better understand the issue, could you please share a bit more detail:

  • Which version of Lightroom Classic are you using?

  • Does the white border appear with every sky/landscape photo or only certain images?
  • Can you share a screenshot or a small video of the mask/selection and the resulting halo effect?

This will help us understand the issue better and help you accordingly.

Regards,

Srishti

Hello and thank you for your reply. It only appears on sky/landscape photos with a sky in the highlights (bordering on burnt) or I try to recover a little texture in the sky. Attached is capture 1, the sky selection is imperfect because it includes the roofs of buildings and the tops of trees. I therefore subtract architecture + vegetation which are well detected, but the result is capture 2 and captures 3 zoom 50% once the retouching is applied. This is not the most striking example, but I processed a lot of photos yesterday and I can't find the one where I had the most difficulty. I hope this one will suit you. I use version 14.5.1 Kind regards

Hi @MARCEL34521755ixpi,

Thank you for taking the time to share these details, along with the screenshots.

To help us investigate this further, could you please share:

  • A few exported sample images showing how the halo or border appears after adjustments.

  • A RAW sample file (or two) where this behavior is clearly visible, so our team can reproduce it under the same conditions.

  • Your system information from Lightroom Classic Help menu > System Info > Cop & paste here.

  • A short screen recording of your workflow, from creating the sky mask, subtracting vegetation/architecture, to applying adjustments.

Once we have these details, we’ll share them with the product team for deeper review. Thank you again for your patience and for bringing this to our attention.

Best,

Anshul Saini
