The two area on either side of the center section of my photos are grey and am not able to access the histogram, change area or the pre-set areas.
can someone provide me with a step by step procedure as to how to turn those areas on (access)
I,m 59 and very New to Light room and technology for that matter. Hope you can help.

What version of Lightroom are you using? What operating system? Any other details about your system would really be helpful.

Does pressing F7 and F8 help?
