I've got a new laptop and Lightroom is now syncing my photos. My question is why is it creating all those copies? I have every photo 1of 2 some 1of 3 even 1 of 4. I now have 75 000 photos in this catalog and don't know if I erase all the copies they will get recreated again. Can anyone help please.

Please explain exactly with what you mean with "Lightroom is now syncing". Which version of Lightroom do you use? Lightroom Classic or Lightroom (cloud)? If Lightroom Classic, did you create a new catalog and synced it to the cloud? Lightroom Classic can only sync one single catalog, so if the catalog on your old computer was synced, then this will indeed cause Lightroom Classic to download all cloud images again.
