I have constructed a preset that adjusts the items in the Basic section, the WB, the Tone Curve and the Lens Correction. The preset uses Auto to adjust the Basic section. When I appy it to an individual image it works fine. It uses the "as shot" for white balance, the Auto for the basic settings, medium contrast tone curve and lastly the proper lens correction for the lens used.
However, if I try to sync the image being used to others the Auto adjust does not seem to pass through to all the other images. Instead the settings from the basic section of the image being synced is applied to all the other images. What I want to happen is to have Auto applied to all the other images. Everything else works, the tone curve, the lens correction and the WB are fine. Either I'm doing something wrong when syncing or there is a bug that doesn't allow Auto to be applied to the syscing files. I can see that it's been applied in the original image as it is grayed out. But all the other synced images have the auto button still active in the Basic section. Logic would tell me that if the preset uses auto properly on individual images then it should extend itself to the images being synced.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

In the Develop Module, the Auto Adjust for Tone has never really worked in batch. If you use the Auto Adjust in the Develop Module in batch, it appears to Auto Adjust the most selected images, then uses that for the remainder. he Auto Adjust in the Library Module, does appear to work in batch.
I assume their is probably a posting under Ideas on changing that???
Ahh, I may be incorrect, their are differing opinions on this. See:

One thing to try, In the Develop Module, when in Batch, the SYNC//Auto Sync button, try in Auto.

I’ll try this in the Library module. I works as you have described in the
Develop module.

To build on GoldingD's reply: Sync/Copy/Paste copy the results of Auto (the specific slider values), not Auto itself, to the target photo. There are three ways to apply Auto to a batch of photos:
1. Define a preset with Auto Settings checked. Apply the preset to multiple selected photos using Library's Quick Develop > Saved Preset.
2. In Library, use Quick Develop > Auto.
3. In Develop, select the target photos in the filmstrip, turn on Auto Sync, click Auto, turn off Auto Sync. But this is dangerous -- there are many posts here of people forgetting to turn off Auto Sync and not noticing until it's too late.
With all three methods, beware that, due to a design defect, the batch application of Auto won't always produce the same settings as clicking Auto on each photo individually. About 6% of the time, it will give visually different results:

Thank you very much. I do believe these will solve the problem.
