Which version of Lightroom are you using? Go to the menu to find the version and build number:

On which Canon camera was the raw file taken?

I suggest that you may need to update camera raw and or Lightroom. It seems that the Canon camera make may be too new for Lightroom to read if you are using an older version. (I guess your Canon camera is new). Have you updated Lightroom?.Are you using an older version 4/5?
