Window sizing/moving on MacOS Tahoe

Explorer ,
Oct 22, 2025 Oct 22, 2025

I hesitated to report this because I thought we'd see an update out shortly after Tahoe and i'd wait and see if that addressed it. I've gone through a few MacOS updates and this hasn't changed anything. Yes, i understand a beta version of MacOS isn't supported but still wanted to throw this out there for awareness.

MacOS Tahoe (26.1 beta) with Lightroom Classic 14.5.1.

Problem is the app window seems to somehow end up moving itself to be positioned under the top Apple menubar. I can go to Window->Fill and it'll move it back into place. But it doesn't stay here, it'll eventually move back up where I can't see the top of the Lightroom window. If the window is not already maximized, i'm unable to double click the top of the window to maximize it. In fact, I can't drag the window in or out at all to resize it either. Lastly, the window somehow randomly moves to my second screen at times.

This was resolved by creating a new preferences file.

Hey @mspguy

While we do work with OS manufacturers behind the scenes, in advance of their final releases, we do not support Adobe's current shipping products on unreleased OS's. As the release of a new OS draws closer (for Apple, typically the Fall), compatibility improves.

MAX is right around the corner. Be sure to check it out online

I'm reporting a bug that was occuring for me in MacOS Tahoe that was released to the public in September. I updated to various new versions of Tahoe to see if the issue was resolved by an OS update. Just reporting my findings. Thank you!

I'm not seeing this issue on an M1 mini running Tahoe. Expect official Adobe support next week as they historically release new versions at MAX conference which starts on Tuesday.

The situation seems exactly the same as it has been for years. The first upgrade that is compatible with the new MacOS is always launched at Adobe MAX. I see no reason why you expected it to be faster this year.

For what it's worth, the latest update didn't resolve this issue for me. I'll do some more troubleshooting on my end.
