I saw that there seems to be a v.13.3.1 now. Has anyone dared to upgrade and see if it's improved?

Saw that too and interested in others' experiences. Didn't see any perf or catalog mentions in the short list of fixes, though, so I haven't tried it.

Ooooooh! Can someone please try it out and report back?
I already reverted back to 13.2 to finish editing some photos that are late because of 13.3 slowdowns. As soon as I'm done with that, I might consider trying 13.3.1. I'll report my findings when I do, but it might be 15 days until I try it.

I updated and still so slow I can't work. I have client photos to get out and what should have taken me one night has now taken me 7 days. I'm at a loss here and having to apologize to clients now. Totally ridiculous.

Updated to Lrc Classic 13.3.1
The performance issue seems to be resolved but I only did a quick check for now.
I've tested switching back and forth from Grid to Develop in varoius folders that were extremely slow in the previous version. Switching from modes and between photos is faster than recently. I'll confirm after I'll have a chance to work a bit longer.

Will be great to hear, Frank.
For ref, about how many images are tracked in your catalog? I've seen cases with (hundreds to few thousands) being okay with 13.3. Seems ones (like me) with 100s of thousands had much less luck.

@E. WilsonSo far so good with 13.3.1 version. No dramatic delays and freezes like in the previous version yet.
Around 150 to 200k photos in the .lrcat file

Update did nothing to resolve my issues. Still slow as molasses since 13.3, even with latest update.

Hopefully you can help. At this point I'm in desperation mode. Edits are taking me hours instead of minutes. Pulling my hair out.

Updated to 13.3.1 - For reference I have just over 800k images in my catalog. The update prvovided speed improvements, BUT (it's a big but) I can not rate, flag, apply user presets to edits, export files, batch process files, raname files...plus whatever else is not working. In other words it's still a mess. My sync issue will have to wait. I need to be able to deliver edited images first.

@walstonphoto If you have sync issues, there's a good chance that's what's causing the performance issues. So when you've got a gap in your schedule, this might help: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/p-regarding-sync-issues-in-13-3-and-rem...

Thanks for the link. All my logs were submitted to Adobe engineers on May 28th in relation to the sync issues (waiting to hear back for them). Right now I have sync turned off for my deivce apps and Classic.

Does turning sync off actually solve the issue?
Copy link to clipboard

No, it does not. I turned sync off before the update, as recomended by support to troubleshoot the sync issues I was having. The update to 13.3 was supposed to solve my sync issue, which it did not, but it did lead to the slowdown issues. Sync is still off, and I still have issues with basic workflow functions.

Add my system to this list of slow LrC 13.3.1 users: Mac Mini M2 running Sonoma 14.5.
Accessing menu commands, clicking on the next image in the Develop module, adjusting crop dimensions, and updating keywords, so far are painfully slow operations compared to previous LrC versions.

when LrC is processing a Develop module image switch, Acitivty Monitor shows LrC at 325% CPU and Memory usage at 7.87 GB. After the Develop module opens the clicked image (in about 10 sec) the %CPU drops to about 40% used by LrC with the next highest being WindowServer and kernal_task, both in the low 20% usage range.

Had the same issues. Specifically, I noticed that LRc was working sor of ok, until I applied a mask to one of the images. Then everything, for all the images in any folder, develop or library module starting to work horrendously slow. Updated Windows (10), updated GPU driver (3060), nothing worked.
Then I removed all the plug-ins (I'm not using any anyways). And now the LrC it's working fine.
Hope it helps.

Spoke to soon, sorry. As soon as I open masking section everything slows down. Even just opening a new radial filter takes forever. And after that move, all other tasks for any other image (especially zoom-in-out, cropping) moves into snail mode.

Same issue, has anyone got a response or help from support on this or has it just been silent??? I have another thread going and don't see any replies from staff or support.

I have talked to tech-support over 20 times in the last two months with no resolution to my sink or performance issues. I have another call scheduled tonight in a couple of hours with no hope that they're going to be able to resolve anything at this point. If the issue goes beyond their prompt script, then all they can do is offer up suggestions with no real knowledge of whether it will work or not.

I downgraded the Lightroom version when the issue started and haven't been updating since. Tried to read here at the forum if the latest 13.4 version helped in this matter but if I understood correctly it didn't. So haven't dared to upgrade. Have the latest version helped any of you here who had the issue?

I'm also in the "wait and hope" camp. Until I see an update from Adobe that even indicates they understand what the problem is, I'm probably holding off.

I created a new catalogue, cleared the cache, set GPU usage to auto. Nothing. As soon as I start working on a picture, the memory used goes to 10 gb and lightroom slows so much it is unusable. Adobe what is going on?!?!?!
