I'd love to get the ability to use 3D LUTs in Lightroom, now that those can be created in Photoshop cc 2014.

There's an additional step: After selecting the .cube, you need to select the color space of the LUT.

Convert .cube LUT file to LightRoom custom profile: (workaround)
(Based on Youtube Tutorial: https://youtu.be/Kexd__B_nts)
- Edit photo in Photoshop (smart object)
- Add Filter: Camera Raw Filter
Camera Raw Filter dialog
- Presets (Shift+P)
- Alt + Click "Create Preset"
- Give name
- Check "Color Lookup Table"
- Select .cube LUT file.
- OK to save this preset -->
The .XMP file is saved in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings\
- Cancel, Exit PS without saving.
- Restart LRc
- Your LUT should now be available in LRc Develop - Basic/Profile

Also, what color space are your LUTs?  If they're common video LUTs, then most likely they're in Rec 709, which ACR doesn't support -- add your opinion and vote to this feature request:

The ACR LUT profiles are non-destructive with an amount slider, but they do require that preliminary one-time step of converting the LUT to the profile.

Thank you John_R_Ellis,

Indeed, it has been improved, but I consider it is still not implemented yet:

I would have liked to apply a LUT (without preliminary steps), in addition to my FujiFilm camera profile.

Non-destructive, WYSIWYG, Amount slider, ... as in ON1, Aurora HDR, DXO, Photoshop, ...

"Not yet Implemented! (Natively in LRC.)"

Correct. But everyone with a Creative Cloud photography plan can use Adobe Camera Raw to convert their LUTs to creative profiles that can be used in Develop.  Obviously less convenient...

January 2021 - Still missing the ability to use LUTs in Lightroom Classic!
(Feature request open since 2014!)

It's now possible, if somehwat inconvenient, using the new enhanced profiles of LR and ACR.  See this previous reply:

However, until Adobe fixes the omission of the Rec 709 color space, you might still have to use the Apply LUT plugin to use the most popular video color-grading LUTs.

With extensive LUT support in alternative RAW processors I wish Lightroom also had the ability to implement LUT color correction directly with a section of Develop module. The simpliest way as I see it is to have an option to select LUT .cube file and be able to change its overall effect on the image with a transparency or percentage slider. I can do that in Photoshop with Color Lookup adjustment layer; I'm also aware of creating a custom color profile based on a LUT with a percentage slider. The latter workaround is cumbersome and tricky.

Having a separate LUT section like Split Toning would immensely improve color correction within Lightroom. Furthermore, having the ability to load more LUTs as a stack with different effect would certainly make LR a killer app.
