P: Allow for keyboard shortcut customization

Customizable keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom would be great. I just find it so confusing that crop and brush tools and things like that have such odd keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom. I understand that changing that all now would be awful for many existing users, but being able to override them like I can in Photoshop would be helpful. Doesn't anyone else out there find they use to wrong keyboard shortcuts in the wrong program?

I would just like the ability to temporarily disable keyboard shortcuts.  I believe this would be especially useful durning keywording.  Sometimes the text box loses focus and as I type the keyword, I end up typing all sorts of shortcuts and it effect Lightroom in unpredictable ways.  Thanks.

Please add the ability to change or add shortcut keys to any system function. Premiere Pro has a very good example of shortcut reassignment. See attached.

This would speed up my workflow a lot and also give me easy access to see what is already assigned to what keys and learn that way, or replace keys with how I prefer.  I don't want to need to search for a page on Google to just learn the keys that can't be changed or don't even have shortcuts. Finding anything on the internet is also becoming increasingly difficult. There is no scroll zoom shortcut in Crop, yet Ctrl+Scroll and Alt+Scroll both don't do anything and result in vertical scrolling as if nothing is pressed. The scroll wheel only moves up and down in crop and can't be changed. I don't want to rely on external paid plugins, which affect my system performance.

I think we're most all aware we can buy another tool for doing what SHOULD already be IN the tool.  Wow 'bout Adobe puts it INTO Lightroom.

@SJ_Pettit I recommended you to use Any Shortcut Plug-in by @johnrellis

Download it here : https://johnrellis.com/lightroom/anyshortcut.htm

.While we wait for Adobe you can have it today.

I am currently doing a lot of work with photos in Lightroom Classic that require opening as layers in Photoshop. Whilst there is the ability to do this by selecting the images and then right click, scroll down and click on "open as layers in photoshop" I would like the ability to undertake this 'action' in a single click through the assignment of a keyboard shorcut.

Whilst in photoshop we can assign keyboard shortcuts to most if not all menu items this is not the same for LR Classic.

Request: Allow user assignment of keyboard shortcuts to menu and sub-menu items like "open as layers in photoshop"

I can see @Rikk Flohr: Photography updated the status last year to 'No Status'.

Rikk, can you please explain what's going on here and why there isn't a move to create customizable shortcuts for Lightroom? Is it really such a big pain on the back-end?

Seems like that's the most popular thing users seem to ask for, and 11 years of subscriptions, maybe it would be fair to address it?

Another alternative I've been using for more than a year now is LRSuperKeys. Works on both Windows and MacOs. One Time Fee, no subscription. It does not only offer keyboard customization, but also replicated Capture One's Speed Edit Keys-functionality.

Hey All, if you're using macOS, I think our application, Power Keys, would be a good fit for you. It allows you to make changes to develop sliders with keyboard shortcuts, personalize your keyboard shortcuts, and apply develop presets with keyboard shortcuts. There is a cost, but we have hundreds of happy subscribers who use Power Keys to edit faster. It's perfect for high-volume photographers such as wedding and portrait photographers. You can check it out here: www.getpowerkeys.com.

I think the answer speaks for itself...  Yet another requested feature that's been sitting for a decade that reminds me every time I use Lightroom what a PITA it is to work with pick flags when you're culling...  OR when you want to change magnification and you're used to the Photoshop shortcut...  I don't think simple features like configurability for productivity get much traction against glitz and hype...
