P: "smart" watermark to include data (location/name/date/lens/camera - EXIF/metadata etc.)

Explorer ,

Is there a way to create a watermark in either Photoshop or Lightroom that is "smart" in that you can customize it to pull data from the metadata of the photo (date/time image was taken, lens used, camera body used, etc.) or file information (folder, subfolder, etc.) ?

FWIW, the Lr/Mogrify 2 plug-in, mentioned earlier in this thread, still works on the latest version of MacOS (I believe it also still works on Win11).

See attached screenshot of a file exported today using the plug-in, it contains Watermark, internal border with Title, Caption and Filename printed on it:

I am just curious about what third party add-ons are available? I looked through and after a non-serious search on the net, I think the only one I can find that *could* work with LR-CC is the LR/Mogrify 2. Are there any other options?

TIA.

That's the one everyone's referring to. Works well.

Given that this topic opened over four years ago, it is apparent that Adobe does not give two shakes about what in the heck their users want. Time to start looking for a new DI processing software.

All I am looking for is a way to watermark images from LR Mobile...pretty simple, basic user, protect my brand request that continues to be ignored.

Vivek - I've been using it for a while - it's a decent tool but not of the level of rendering quality you'd expect in a native feature.

Also you can't use it for web galleries, unless I missed something

Hey guys, i'm recently faced a challenge and still can not decide. I need set number to a thousand photos, like a: 001, 002, 003, etc. I tried a third-party software such as uMark, but the quality will bad. I saw a thread in the forum about how you can add numbers in the slideshow, but can only be exported in video or pdf. Tell me, have the ways to implement it in Lightroom/PS?

Thanks,
Alex

I'd like the ability to use "tags" in my watermarking text. For example, I currently have to create separate watermarks for copyrighting my photos depending on the dates of the photos. e.g., "Copyright 2013 Jeff B", "Copyright 2014 Jeff B", etc.

I'd like to just use a metadata tag (e.g, "Copyright {capture date year} Jeff B.", or "{Copyright}") in the watermark text so that LR automatically fills it in from the metadata fields.

That way I only need to concentrate on how the copyright looks, not so much on what the text says.

I would love for a feature to be not just exporting with watermark, but allow for that watermark to be dynamic -- some keyword, filename, shutter speed/aperture, etc.

Watermark Pro does this, outside of LR, but having the feature to export, within LR, small JPEGS with the filename or some other identifying information, would help clients and customers pick the images they like.  We can then go back, just search for that keyword and put them up.

I would love to see the ability to export photos in the library module with a watermark of the filename.

you can do this with watermark pro, unfortunately not in LR or Bridge or anything (as far as I know...)

In Lightroom I can program the file name by using special inserts for template {Date (Month DD, YYYY) »}. I propose to implement this feature for watermarks in later versions?

Hello Adobe STAFF !

I really can’t understand why you refuse (for 4 years !!!) to implement the possibility to use the EXIF tokens in the smart watermark ???

Maciej

Or at least to change the position of the "Simple Watermark" ?

Simple Watermark is placed in the left corner of the photo, which is quite unusal, isn't it ?

 BR,

Maciej

Add original file numbers to watermarks. Very hard to discuss selections with clients without visible file numbers.

I've been needing this for several years as well.  It's no fun.  Watermarks for published folders with variables would be insanely useful.

This can be done with a script embedded in an Action in Photoshop. I currently have a script which processes the filename and then feeds that to an action which adds a text layer to images.

I would like to be able to include original file numbers in my watermarks. It would make it much easier for clients to request pictures and would add an additional degree of watermark protection to my images. This would seem like a no brainer. Cannot tell you how many times clients have requested "second, fourth and fifth pictures," like I know what that means. I would like to see this added to the watermark options in Lightroom Classic.
