Greetings all,

A new update for Adobe Photography Products has been released.  The February updates contain an update for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

"Hello everyone

I need your help. Recently I get the following message when I want to save my Lightroom catalog: "Catalog size over 4GB"

What should I do now? Can anyone help me?

Thank you very much for your help"

Kataloggröße über 4 GB
Die Größe deines Katalogs liegt über 4 GB . Verwende das Dienstprogramm eines Drittanbieters wie z. B. 7-Zip oder StuffitExpander, um deine Katalogsicherung zu extrahieren
Catalog size over 4GB
Your catalog size is over 4 GB. Use a third-party utility such as B. 7-Zip or StuffitExpander to extract your catalog backup

When you close LrC are you creating a backup?

and see (perhaps):

And mind you, this is probably a very old bug in MACOS, 4GB should not be a limit in MACOS for compressing or decompressing files (more lie 4 TB limit) and your catalog may not be in fact 4 GB (certainly not 4 TB)

/Followup/ this MACOS bug is from way back in 2016, what is your MACOS version??

Click on 'Nicht erneut anzeigen'. This is a very old warning. What it means is that you may need to get a separate unzip utility to unzip your catalog backup if you ever need it, beause the built-in unzip option in MacOS can't unzip it properly. That is all. I doubt this is still true, but if it is, then just get an Unzip app in the Mac App Store. There are lots of free Unzip apps.

MacOS does not have any problem expanding a > 4GB zip file anymore, so ignore this message.
