Backing-up of images stored locally on iPad

Hi there - I'm going to be travelling for four weeks without an internet connection this summer and I want to be able to back up the images that I will download from my camera and import into lightroom mobile on my ipad. I'd like to back up the raw files and also the sidecar files (containing the develop settings applied to the raw files) on a 1TB USB stick in case anything happens to the ipad while I'm out in the wilds. Can anyone tell me:

a) If this is possible, and

b) How I go about doing this?

Many thanks, Matthew

Lightroom Mobile cannot export raw images with sidecar files. If you export as original, then you'll get the original raw file without edits. The only way you can export raw with edits is by exporting the image as DNG. The edits will be stored into the header of the DNG in that case. So export all images as DNG to the external SSD.
