Camera preview is light. Result is dark

I can show you two screenshots, but basically:

The live view in the camera looks great.

The preview after I click the shutter looks great.

The file saved to the Library is 2 or 3 stops dark.

Current Lightroom Mobile

iPhone 7plus

Screen is at full brightness.

I think it might be happening at low ISO only (below 100)

What happens when you shoot a jpeg? What happens when you shoot in auto mode instead of Pro? This is probably happening because the phone's built-in jpeg engine is automatically correcting for the underexposure. In the preview screen as well as in the image you see right after you shoot, the camera thing shows the result of the jpeg engine and not the raw data it captured.

Could you please let us know the exact version of Lightroom mobile you are using now? Also, since when you are noticing this issue.?

Regards,

Mohit

I suspected the problem last week, and I confirmed it yesterday.

Hi

It might be helpful to see a screen shot of the current camera settings when you take the picture as well.

Note: it's also on self-timer. I could re-shoot and do some tests with various settings.IMG_0310.PNG

Actually I was more curious about the settings at the bottom of the camera screen:

Here it is at a higher ISO, with regular shutter.

I'm afraid that's the thing; despite LR Mobile claiming to have full manual control of the onboard iPhone camera, the Apple camera still delivers live view, and previews, based on the JPEG it would have created: with corrected histogram, and noise reduction.

I noticed that in LR or in Filmic pro, when I recompose the manual camera from "sort of dim" area of the room, to "definitely underexposed", the live view dumps suddenly to black.
