I have a bunch of images of books that I would like to change the background colour to all the same light grey colour. Attached is an example. I would like to make the brown-ish background a light grey and keep the shadows as well. I don't want to affect the yellow of the book itself. I have managed to make some changes in Lightroom but they are not entirely satisfactory. Thanks for your help

This can be done quite simply by creating a mask, using "Select Subject" and then "inverting" the mask. Once you have the background selected, simply desaturate it.
