Custom Order: I thought for sure there was a way to reorder photos on the iPad

I've created an important collection in Lightroom Classic and synced it with Mobile so that it's an album in Lightroom Mobile.  I can reorder the photos in the collection on Classic, and then view the album in custom order on Mobile, and it looks lovely.

But, I'm taking my iPad to a family function (is a memorial album for a funeral) and I really though there was a way to adjust the custom order of an album on mobile.  I can't seem to do it in the iPad app, nor in the web browser.  Whenever I select a photo, it pops up the menu allowing me to add, move, copy, share, remove... but not reorder.

I really think I remember being able to drag a photo to a new position in the album, in either the browser on iPad or the iPad app, without activating this select menu that provides other options (add, copy, share, remove...).

Am I missing something? Or mis-remembering this feature?

Thanks!

Using the LrMobile app, select the album and in grid view tap on the tri-dot menu top right and select the "Sort By....." option. On the resulting screen select Custom and if you want to change the existing custom order also tap on the adjacent "Edit" button. That will open the album in the "Reorder Photos" grid, where you can drag and drop images into your preferred order. Click on Done when you've finished.

On desktop safari I can drag-n-drop to reorder photos, but I guess that functionality is broken in iPadOS safari and also in iPadOS chrome.  I'm surprised it also doesn't seem to work in the native iPad app.

I thought this was a technical issue, where I would reorganize my photos in the Lightroom CC on my laptop, but it wouldn't keep that organization when I looked at the same album on my Lightroom Mobile app (which was syncing everything else). Turns out, it is not a technical bug and really it's that Lightroom Cloud and Lightroom Mobile don't have this feature to reorganize the images (hence why images on my phone stay in the original order). Please, please add this feature. I use reorganizing a lot on the Lightroom CC desktop version and I need to reference the photos on my phone after I edit because my computer screen is so different from my phone... which ultimately makes the process so much more difficult since they are not in the same order. It may seem small, but in the long run, it eats up a lot of uneccesary time, especially when it's a wedding of 1,000 photos that I'm editing and reorganizing.

Thank you!!

Hi @Liv With Joy Studios

What you're asking for, the ability to put photos in an order you choose is possible on Lightroom Mobile.  I merged you post into an existing thread with some helpful info.  Please load this forums thread to see the advice.
