Deleting photos that are only in a specified album

I created a new album the other day and immediately added a few thousand photos to the album. Some of these photos were already in my Lightroom CC collection of photos.

Rather than load duplicates of photos already in my collection, Lightroom CC added the newly created album's tag to the photos already in my collection.

I have now realized that adding those few thousand photos into Lightroom CC was a bad idea. Consequently, I would like to delete all of the photos in the newly created album, which are ONLY in that album. Alternatively, I would like to delete all photos that I have added during the last few days.

Is there any way to do this?

P.S. I'm running the latest Lightroom CC on my Mac.

The name "Lightroom CC" is not used any more. I am presuming you have Lightroom v7.2.

If you 'Add' photos to Lightroom then they have been imported and stored in your Library in the Lightroom Cloud.

"Albums" in Lightroom are simply created lists of selected images. And a fast way to view a group of selected images.

1) If you select and [Delete] an image when you are viewing an Album of photos-

The image is only deleted from the Album 'list'. It is NOT removed from the Library (All Photos).

The Album (with the photos listed) is removed, but photos are NOT deleted from the Library (All Photos)

3) If you want to  entirely delete an image from the Library (aka catalog), then in Library Grid View, select the image/s and press [Delete].

Note: Lightroom holds the images in a 'Deleted' album for 60 days when they are then permanently and irretrievably deleted from the Cloud and your computer.

"delete all photos that I have added during the last few days."

Then you will need to view in either list- 'Recently added' or 'By Date' (or select from the entire 'All Photos')- then Delete.
