Generative remove

New Here ,
Oct 30, 2025 Oct 30, 2025

Hi - I am having a really tough time with the generative remove feature and I have tried just about everything to try and resolve the issue. I feel like with the most recent update my generative remove got worse and more difficult to use. My first issue has been that when I remove something it removes the object but then leaves a shadow of the object I tried to remove even if there wasnt any shadows in the area - the other issue is that it is just generating transparent objects so pretty much leaving what I am trying to remove but with a low opacity so you can still see it there ? I attached a photo where I had tried to remove an object and when downloaded there is just a weird overlay on top and the shadows are there as if the object was there still? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey, @jillan_9699. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more information to help you figure this out. Please share the system information from Photoshop Help > System Info > Copy and paste it into a text document > Upload and attach it here.

Does this happen after a specific set of usages or a specific structure of layers?

In Photoshop, go to Edit > Image Processing & set the Remove Tool Processing to More stable.

Also, please test and confirm if the issue exists with Photoshop (Beta). You can get Photoshop (beta) from the Creative Cloud > Apps tab > Beta Apps section.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!
