in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Does it print that way, too?
This looks like a problem with your GPU (graphics processor).
Make sure your computer & GPU meet the minimum requirements.

Also ensure you have the latest graphics drivers for your video card. It's best to download them from the card maker's website.
Hope that helps.

I'm assuming this is Photoshop. But it could be PS Elements, Lightroom, Lightroom classic, Bridge, Adobe Camera Raw, etc...

Yes, it is Lightroom - sorry! I didn't understand the question, I thought it was a Lightroom forum. Yes, it seems like the GPU as my laptop sounded like it was about to lift off with all the noise and processing. Thank you for the reqiurement links!

I've moved your post from Using the Community to the Lightroom forum for you Ilona.
No worries about posting the the "wrong" place. It's our job to make sure posts are in the forum where they are most likely to get an answer, and we are happy to do this.

If the GPU in your Mac is AMD, then I suspect you're experiencing the bug discussed in Lr Classic Bug forum https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-gpu-develop-edit-view-amp-export-artifacts-a...
This bug affects LrC, LrD and Camera Raw
